Glosscam

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This policy covers the iOS app “Glosscam” (the “App”, formerly “2000s”) and this website. In short: the App works without an account, your photos and videos stay on your iPhone, usage analytics are off until you allow them, and you can turn crash reports off at any time.

2. No account — your photos stay on your device

Glosscam has no account and no sign-in. Photos and videos you take or import, your Studio edits, collages and text, and the in-app memory card are processed and stored on your iPhone. Normal use of the App does not upload your pictures, videos or editor text to us, and we have no access to them.

A photo leaves the App only when you choose to save it to your Photos library or share it via the iOS share sheet (for example to Instagram). The destination you choose handles that copy under its own terms. The App also stores local settings and your privacy choices on the device. Deleting the App deletes everything stored inside it.

3. Permissions

You can change these at any time in the iOS Settings app.

4. Optional usage analytics (AnalyticsCLI) — opt-in

Usage analytics are off until you allow them. Only after you choose “Allow Analytics” does the App send usage events to our analytics service AnalyticsCLI — for example screen views, chosen looks, capture and export actions, purchase-flow steps, app version, iOS version, device type and a random app identifier. These help us understand which features are used and improve the App. Photos, videos and feedback text are never part of usage events.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Without consent, no usage events are sent. You can withdraw consent at any time in the App under Settings › Tracking & Analytics › “Turn Off Analytics”; this stops collection immediately and discards queued events. Withdrawal does not affect processing before it, and does not automatically delete data already received — email us to request erasure.

There are no advertising SDKs, no IDFA and no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites, so the App does not use App Tracking Transparency.

5. Crash reports (GlitchTip) — on by default, opt-out

If the App crashes or hits an error, it sends a technical report to GlitchTip, an error-tracking service hosted by Wotaso (Sentry-compatible SDK; no data goes to Sentry’s cloud). Reports may contain app and iOS version, device model, time, stack traces, technical breadcrumbs and a pseudonymous SDK identifier. Sensitive fields are scrubbed; no screenshots, photos or library content are attached.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and reliability of the App (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can turn crash reports off in the App under Settings › Crash Reports. Restart the App afterwards so native crash reporting also follows your choice.

6. Feedback and support

If you send feedback from within the App, its text and technical context (app version, build, platform and the screen it was sent from) are transmitted to the AnalyticsCLI feedback service; this works independently of the analytics opt-in. If you email us, we receive what you send. We use this only to handle and answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. Please don’t include information you don’t want us to have.

7. Stickers and fonts from our CDN

The Studio’s sticker gallery and downloadable fonts are fetched from our asset server (assets-2000s.wotaso.com) when you open them, and cached on your device. As with any download, the hosting and network provider processes connection data such as your IP address, the requested file and time, to deliver the file. No personal identifier is added to these requests. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (delivering the requested content).

8. Purchases

Glosscam Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment, subscription management and restoration; we never receive your payment details. The App receives only the entitlement status needed to unlock Pro. If you allowed analytics, purchase-flow events may include the selected plan, price and currency.

9. This website

glosscam.com is a static website without cookies, analytics, tracking scripts, forms or external fonts. When you visit, the hosting provider necessarily processes connection data (IP address, requested page, time, browser) to deliver the pages and protect against abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

10. Recipients and international transfers

Data is processed by Wotaso and by the providers needed for the functions above: hosting and network providers, AnalyticsCLI (opt-in analytics and voluntary feedback) and Apple (App Store services). Processors act on our behalf under Art. 28 GDPR. Where a provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data.

11. Retention

Photos, videos and edits remain on your device until you delete them or the App. Other data is kept only as long as needed for its purpose: crash reports for investigating and fixing errors, consent-based analytics for the product analysis described, feedback and emails for handling your request and its follow-up. Data is then deleted or anonymised, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Turning a switch off stops future collection; ask us if you want past data erased.

12. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21) and to withdraw consent at any time for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). Because the App has no account, we often cannot link data to you without your help — email contact@wotaso.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing.

13. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EU/EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

14. Changes

We update this policy when the App or legal requirements change. The current version is always on this page.
